Ujęcie — translated as Framed, or Captured — is the first work in the One967 series, created in 2017 and first performed in 2018 by Wojciech Mochniej and Iris Heitzinger (Austria). In its current iteration, the choreography is re-embodied by Nicole Charlton Goodbrand and Will Jessup (Vancouver) — reframed through new bodies, new histories, and new relational dynamics.

An emotionally charged exploration of relationship in all its fractures and intimacies, its tenderness and volatility, the work moves through time — tracing how connection matures through loss, discovery, and renewed openness to life. It investigates the dramatic tension between bodies as they negotiate proximity, distance, and shared memory.

Mochniej’s choreographic practice is deeply cinematic. Scenic composition and lighting are not ornamental but structural — shaping how movement is perceived and felt. His works employ a mise-en-scène that draws on cinematic sensibility: choreography clothed in imagery and symbolism, where visual impact becomes a conduit for idea and emotion.

Part of the One967 series — five episodes drawn from watershed moments in the artistic life of Wojciech Mochniej.
